There are a few ways to dry a wet carpet, including:

Fans: Circulate air to speed up evaporation. Place a fan next to the carpet, facing it so it blows air across the surface.

Dehumidifiers: Remove humidity from the air.

Space heaters: Dry out the air, but avoid placing them in areas that are very wet.

Absorbent towels: Press towels into the carpet to soak up remaining water.

Baking soda: Sprinkle baking soda on the carpet to absorb moisture and odors.

Hot water extraction: Removes moisture and debris, and rinses the carpet with detergent.

Wet vacuum cleaner: Can be used to remove water.

Submersible pump: Can be used to remove a large amount of water from a completely saturated carpet.

It's important to dry carpet quickly to prevent mold, mildew, and bacteria growth. If the carpet is wet from category 2 water, which can contain unsafe levels of microorganisms, you should call professionals immediately.
