Carpets are usually packaged in rolls or bales and wrapped in plastic film or jute/hessian sacking. Here are some tips for packaging carpets:

Roll the carpet: Roll the carpet with the backing facing inside.

Protect from moisture: Use stretch film to protect the carpet from moisture.

Use a bag: Place the carpet in a transparent plastic film bag that's at least 6 mil thick. The bag should fit snugly around the carpet, but still allow it to be removed without difficulty.

Use a tube: For large rugs, use rug tubing made from rigid plastic or wounded rigid paperboard to roll the carpet around. This will prevent permanent creasing and make the carpet easier to handle and store.

Use a carton: For rugs smaller than 4' x 6', use a corrugated carton with a minimum 200 psi burst strength.

Protect the ends: For runners, protect the ends with hardboard disks to prevent slipping.

Use protective layers: Wrap the carpet in protective layers to shield it from moisture, dust, and external forces. You can use materials like bubble wrap, acid-free tissue paper, foam, or cushioning material.
